WHY DO PSYCHOLOGISTS «PORTRAY THEMSELVES»: SUBJECTIVE IMPRESSIONS
Abstract. The author of the paper gives a number of reasons why do some psychologists have a special outward appearance and/or behavior which distinct them from representatives of the other, mostly natural sciences. These reasons are as follows: the absence of a clear definition of the subject of psychological study, which brings psychology closer to mystics and esoteric, as well as personal problems (disorders), which representatives of this profession hope to solve by choosing this discipline as their main occupation.
